Using Dial-In
Dial-In logs espresso and runs its deterministic Coach offline on your device, without an account.
No account needed
The free Coach and every Free Core feature work without an account or a remote service. On Android, Dial-In Lab purchase or restore does not require Google sign-in.
Where your data lives
Espresso shot logs, bean profiles, equipment settings, preferences, Coach state and Coach results are stored on your device. If you use Dial-In Lab, its recipe revisions, session pull snapshots and recaps, advanced shot fields, gear and maintenance profiles and the last consistency and freshness report are stored on your device too.
Dial-In excludes all app data from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so records you delete are not restored through Android backup or migration. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes local Lab data.
CSV export and import
CSV export and import cover Free Core shot and bean data. CSV export writes a temporary file and opens the system share sheet; Dial-In does not upload it.
CSV import restores shot and bean columns but does not restore Lab recipes, sessions, gear profiles, or advanced fields. Replacing shots and beans from CSV also deletes the advanced Lab fields attached to the deleted shots. Dial-In Lab has a separate local JSON export for its artifacts and advanced fields; it currently has no Lab JSON import.
Restore Dial-In Lab
Dial-In Lab is a one-time unlock, not a subscription. To restore it, open the Dial-In Lab screen and choose Restore / check. On Android, use the Google Play account that bought it.
If a Lab purchase result is unresolved or still running, use Restore / check or let it finish. Dial-In blocks Delete All Data until then. Optional tips are separate, repeatable purchases and add no Lab features.
Delete All Data
Delete All Data clears shots, beans, equipment, Lab artifacts, and Coach data offline while preserving appearance, Motion, currency, verified Lab ownership, and any unresolved Lab duplicate-purchase guard. Deleting one shot or all shots also deletes the advanced Lab fields attached to them. Export a CSV first if you want to keep your shots and beans.
On Android, if you have used the optional Remote Coach, Delete All Data also requests irreversible deletion of your Remote Coach account and remaining request balance. The Android privacy policy has the details.
Dial-In for iPhone
Dial-In for iPhone has no account and no sign-in. Purchases are optional and handled by Apple through the App Store; Dial-In uses RevenueCat to check and restore what you bought. If you delete the app or its data, you can restore Dial-In Lab on the same Apple Account with Restore / check. Dial-In for iPhone excludes its local data from iCloud and device backups.
Privacy
