Nautical Flags by PierDo

Using Nautical Flags

Nautical Flags is a study and reference aid. It is not for real signalling, navigation or maritime safety. The current official International Code of Signals and your flag state’s rules apply at sea.

Flags

The Flags tab shows every flag, drawn in code from published descriptions of the Code’s flags: the 26 letters, the numeral pennants, the answering pennant and the three substitutes. Search by letter, name or a word from a meaning, or pick Letters, Numbers or Pennants. Tap a flag for its name, meaning, Morse and colours; tap it again or use the close button to dismiss it.

Quiz

The flag quiz is 10 questions: name a flag, say what it means on its own, or pick the flag for a meaning. The results list the flags you missed. Nothing is timed in the free quiz.

Spell

Type a word and each letter appears as its flag; a space starts a new hoist. Save as image prepares a picture you can share through the Android share sheet (a download on the web).

Morse

The Morse tab lists every letter and numeral with its flag and its dots and dashes.

Free and Pro

Free includes the reference, the flag quiz with results and missed flags, Spell and the Morse table. Nautical Flags Pro is one optional one-time purchase that adds mixed, timed and topic exam sets, a review of only the flags you missed, and progress history. There is no subscription. Everything included from the start keeps working with or without Pro.

Restore a purchase

Open the More tab, then Nautical Flags Pro, and choose Restore purchase. Use the Google Play account that bought Pro and keep the device online while it checks. If checkout was interrupted, choose Restore purchase or Check purchase status before you try to buy again, and do not start another purchase while one is pending.

Your answers

Your answers and rounds stay on this device only; the app has no account, backup or restore. Clear my progress in the More tab removes them and keeps your purchase; clearing the app’s data or uninstalling also removes them. If the app says it could not save a round, nothing was changed: check the free storage on the device and try again.
